stranger Alert

Dear Lamphere Families,

It was reported to us that a student, who was walking home from Page Middle School, was approached and offered a ride by a man he did not know. This occurred at approximately 3:05 PM. This student was walking east along Robert Ave, between Howard Ave. and Herbert St. The man appeared to be in his late 30s to early 40s, medium build with brown hair.  He was driving a light blue Ford car. The Madison Heights Police Department has been notified and is investigating at this time.

To help spread the message of safety, please review these points with your children:

  • Run to the nearest safe place.

  • Always walk with a group of friends.

  • Watch for things that are happening around you as you walk.

  • Never accept candy or a ride from a stranger.
